The Montour County Genealogical Society was founded in September 1999. We are a group of volunteers dedicated to the collection and preservation of information about families, past and present, of Montour County and to helping its families obtain the information they need to document their family heritage. 

Warrior Run - Fort Freeland Heritage Society 
Fort Freeland Heritage Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the history and heritage of the Warrior Run area. Located in central Pennsylvania, the term "Warrior Run" refers to a defined geographic region in part of Union, Northumberland, and Montour Counties.
The Society actively collects and preserves objects made and used by settlers of the area and makes its collections available for viewing and study to interested students and scholars. In addition to its collections, the society also encourages the preservation of the crafts once practiced in the area through an active apprenticeship/mentor program.

Danville Community Band - The Danville Community Band was originally formed in 1969 as the Danville Legion Post 40 Marching Band. In 1999 it changed it's name to the Danville Community Band. The band practices out of Danville, Pennsylvania and is under the baton of Mr. John Collins III. Our membership consists of several local musicians from Danville, Bloomsburg, Berwick, Selinsgrove, and beyond. The Band is proud to perform multiple concerts throughout the year at a variety of venues.

Founded in 2001, the band consists of a group of upstate New York musicians who are dedicated to the performance of original Civil War music on actual antique brass band instruments of the 1860’s period.

 

www.civilwarband.com  - The mission of the 2nd South Carolina String Band is to present Civil War music in as authentic a manner as possible. In their recordings the listener will hear the music of the 19th century played on 19th century period instruments in the appropriate style. This is the music as it truly sounded to the soldiers of the Civil War.
